Our Breakfasts - A Scented Garden B&B, Chemainus, BC, Canada

Most of the year, we serve full breakfasts each morning in the guest common / breakfast room, beside the bright bay window with glimpses of the ocean, and opposite the window with the view of Mount Brenton. Breakfasts will be home-cooked, with house specialties. They will fill you up and satisfy you right through lunch! Your hosts will provide insider information not to be found at other forms of accommodation. Interesting conversations around the breakfast table are an integral part of your stay. Let Rick help after breakfast with directions, or have Michaela book your dinner at a restaurant of your choice. We have many suggestions for activities, dining and attractions because we're locals, and have the inside scoop! Plus we do our share of networking with many Cowichan Valley businesses and try to get great deals for our guests.

Breakfast at A Scented Garden B&B includes a healthy fruit serving, yoghurts, puddings and sometimes a dollop of cream accompanying fresh fruits, or fruit salads. Each dish is a sweet surprise.

Our entrees are famous for the presentation. Fresh flower garnishes and herbs straight from the garden accompany your serving, and sometimes a colourful corner of green, yellow and red tidbits of peppers, tomatoes or fruit pieces.

Different entrees are served each day, with a sampling of our menus below...

Stuffed Tomato

Stuffed Tomato:

Vibrantly coloured, sometimes fresh garden produce. Stuffed with scrambled egg and cheese mixture, topped with grated cheese.

West Coast Quiche:

Tasty and filling. A hash brown base topped with an egg mixture, sprinkled with chunks of ham and grated cheese.

Vol au Vent Eggs:

Elegant name for an elegant dish. Puff pastry filled with mushrooms and topped with a hard-cooked poached egg, drizzled with Hollandaise sauce.

The Encore: As a delightful finishing touch, a selection of bite-sized muffins, tarts, biscotti pieces, wafers, brownies, fruits, etc. is served after your entrée.

Simple Fare Breakfast Choice: Traditional B&B fare provides a hearty, filling and sumptuous breakfast. Most guests eagerly anticipate the luxury of whipped-cream topped French toast, or hash-brown quiche. Indeed many would be sorely disappointed with plainer fare, but there are those who prefer a much more simple start to their day. If you are a toast and cereal type of person, there is always a selection of alternate simple foods on the buffet table such as…
muffins, scones, croissants, cheddar cheese slices, yogurt, fruit salad, home made whole wheat toast, bagel, toasted English muffin and cereals. Of course, juices and preserves, coffee and tea are always at the table.

Our aim is to provide a comprehensive, enjoyable breakfast for everyone. Come and experience the essence of a great BC Bed & Breakfast. Chat for a while at breakfast and perhaps finish your tea in a garden courtyard listening to the local birds.
